Sustainable Development Goals(SDG)

Water, the most crucial and scarce Natural resource that is interconnected globally but is taken for granted and is extensively overused. Soon the whole world will be crippled without this resource. It is only wise to use this resource sparingly and efficiently for a sustainable future for each one.

Through this project activity, a conscientious effort is made to restore the local natural reservoir by the technique of rain water harvesting and watershed management enabling the ground water level to come up. The reservoir is extremely important to the local inhabitants as fulfills the domestic requirement as well as helpful for irrigation purposes in the Sugarcane cultivation. Such efforts towards restoration and conservation using Watershed management and Rain water harvesting has enabled the ground water level to rise.
The grey water from the Sugar mills and other domestic uses is recycled. This treated water can again used for irrigation and other purposes, further reducing the consumption of fresh water, leading to water conservation. Such green practices lead to sustainable livelihoods and economic growth for the region.
