Tidal Wetlands

Sustainable Development Goals(SDG)

The project area is an important area for mangrove biodiversity and conservation. The project is aimed at reforesting and rebuild native mangroves, managing hydro-logical conditions and increase biodiversity, reduce the threats of marine disasters to adjacent communities, develop nature tourism and enhance carbon sequestration.

There is limited natural habitat recovery and reforestation before the project. The project is expected to generate GHG emission removals, improve biodiversity, enhance coastal resilience and communities’ livelihood.Since such regions – the forest patches in the mangrove reserve are surrounded by ponds, create a spatial barrier and limit the natural spread of the mangroves.

Overall, this collaborative effort aims to harness the ecological benefits of mangroves, promote sustainable development practices, and contribute to the conservation and restoration of the vital mangrove ecosystem.
